Media Technologies State-of-the-art Paper

Paper Proposal

This state-of-the-art paper intends to do a literature review of the development of wearable technologies applied to artistic performance, namely in circus arts. First, we will try to define wearable technology, then do a historical overview of the use of wearable technology in artistic contexts, characterisation and highlight some relevant projects; second we will address the design process and the implementation of wearable technology, we will do an overview of the materials and equipments mostly used in these projects. For further research, we will do a previous approach to the performer's needs regarding body movements, concerns, and expectations.
